22-year-old shot and killed on Syracuse’s eastside identified

Update at 2:45 p.m. on 6-11-25: Syracuse Police have identified the victim of this shooting as 22-year-old Juan Rodriguez.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Syracuse man has died after being shot earlier today.

Around 6 p.m., Syracuse Police officers responded to the 200 Block of Westmoreland Avenue for a report of a shooting with injuries.

When they arrived, officers found a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Upstate Hospital where he later died.
