Def Leppard and the Goo Goo Dolls Are Back on Tour

By: Eliana Hebert

Def Leppard just announced their 2027 joint tour this afternoon, Oct. 8.

The 45-date tour is being headlined by Def Leppard and supported by the Goo Goo Dolls and The Struts.

Def Leppard’s popularity peaked in the 1980s with hit albums like 1983’s Pyromania and 1987’s Hysteria. Over four decades later, they are still on tour. Playing shows nearly every year, 2027’s opening night will come just four months after the last date of their current Las Vegas and world tour with nearly 40 shows in 11 months.

The Goo Goo Dolls have also just come off their own summer tour, with shows wrapping up on Sept. 20 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. They have a few more shows in 2026, with Nov. 20-21 dates in Buffalo, New York.

With opener Neon Trees, the Goo Goo Dolls played at the Empower FCU Amphitheater on Sept. 3. With 10,000 fans in attendance, the crowd listened to hits like “Dizzy”, “Slide”, and “Iris”.

The smallest and newest of these bands, The Struts, have played only a few shows in the past several months. This is after their Everybody Wants tour in 2025 which boasted over 40 dates over the course of a few months.

Together, the three bands cross genres from rock and metal to pop and grunge. With their peak popularity also ranging in the last four decades, the tour presents a unique opportunity to hear a wider variety on one stage.

Ticketmaster’s presale for the tour begins Oct. 12 at 10:00 a.m. EDT. Tickets are expected to range from $100 to $300 for base level seats depending on the venue.

If Syracuse listeners are looking for nearby shows, the bands will be playing Madison Square Garden, Prudential Center, and the XfinityMobile Arena in the late spring.
