The Hometown Heroes program is a nationwide program that allows families and friends to sponsor banners featuring their veteran or active-duty loved ones to be posted on their hometown city streets.
“There are still spots available, so Syracuse Hometown Heroes is offering more time for people to participate,” said Mayor Walsh. “Orders received by July 9 will be posted during August and will stay up through Veterans Day.”
Syracuse Parks Conservancy is administering the program and working in partnership with the city and the Dunbar American Legion Post 1642 in Syracuse.
The cost of each banner is $160, and includes the printing and posting for three seasons, as well as the ongoing administration of the program.
Syracuse banners can be ordered at SyracuseHometownHeroes.com or by mail to: Syracuse Hometown Heroes, c/o Syracuse Parks Conservancy, P.O. Box 11384. Syracuse, NY 13218.
