Elbridge couple arrested for having multiple illegal weapons

ELBRIDGE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Town of Elbridge couple has been arrested and charged following a physical altercation that led to a search warrant of their home where multiple illegal weapons were being kept.

On June 14, the New York State Police Troop D Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) and uniformed officers were sent to execute a search warrant at the home of 59-year-old James Beaulieu, and 45-year-old Shannon Beaulieu, on Powerhouse Road, in the Town of Elbridge.

The search came after a call to 911 that alleged a physical altercation and menacing of a handgun towards a victim.

In the home, police found and seized the following:

  • Diamondback Assault Rifle
  • Polymer 80 “Ghost” 9mm Handgun
  • Winchester .12 gauge shotgun
  • Four .223 large-capacity ammunition-feeding devices
  • Three 9mm large capacity ammunition feeding devices
  • One dagger
  • One set of metal knuckles
  • One billy club

James Beaulieu was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (a class “C” Felony)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (a class “D” Felony)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (a class “D” Felony)
  • Menacing 2nd  (a class “A” misdemeanor)
  • Harassment 2nd (Violation)

And Shannon Beaulieu was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (a class “C” Felony)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (a class “D” Felony)
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (a class “D” Felony)

According to state police, both suspects were processed at SP Lysander and arraigned at Onondaga County CAP court.

James Beaulieu was remanded at Onondaga County Justice Center instead of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond, and $75,000 partially secured bond.

As for Shannon Beaulieu, she was remanded at Onondaga County Justice Center instead of $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond, and $25,000 partially secured bond.
