20 shows later and this Bruce Springsteen fan is still going to the Boss’ concerts

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Frank Grillo was bit by the Bruce Springsteen bug 50 years ago and never looked back.
“The first time I saw him was 1973 it cost me $2 Dean Junior College in Franklin, Massachusetts and I’ve seen him maybe 20 some 30 odd times. I’ve lost count,” Grillo said.
He described each experience of seeing Bruce in concert as intoxicating.
“It’s all good, he’s got so much of a catalog and what on a good night he plays 35 songs, so he’s got hundreds to choose from so it’s just so much fun,” Grillo explained.
Grillo remembers that first concert like it was yesterday.
“Right yeah he only had one album, he only had one song, and when I saw him, it was the best thing, I ever saw I saw five people six people in the band and oh it was just wonderful. First time I heard Rosalita; it was Labor Day 1973.”
It was a memory so fond he had chased the feeling for years to come.
“Just keep rocking Bruce, you stay out there, you keep coming, we keep coming.”
Even though he’s been to dozens of Springsteen concerts, Frank says he only has about five shirts, but his wife was planning on getting him one last night.
