‘Animals are not litter’ cats dumped overnight in the rain at CNYSPCA

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The CNYSPCA is looking for the public’s help in identifying a man who dumped cats.
Around 3 a.m. on April 12, the man left five cats — with one in poor health — outside the shelter’s door in the rain.

“The good news is that the cats are at CNYSPCA, they are safe and are being checked over medically,” said Troy Waffner, Director of CNYSPCA.
However, Waffner says that the bad news is that the person who dumped them, overnight, in the rain, thought it was ok.
“Animals are not litter,” he said.
The shelter is now looking to identify this person, so at the very least they can find out the medical history of the cats.

“People need to stop thinking of animals like litter where they can just throw them out the door when they are done with them,” Waffner said. “An animal is a family member, friend, and huge commitment and it cannot be taken lightly.”
