Turns wetter overnight into Thursday AM

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – More numerous rain showers return towards Thursday morning, but do they stick around through Thursday, and do we stay mild?? Details are below…
Another wave of showers on the way
A weakening cold front had trouble getting through CNY today but is still trying this evening and as a result a few showers are in the area to start the night. As the front near us starts to move back north late tonight into Thursday morning some more rain showers are expected to build in and develop.
Lows are mild again tonight dropping only into the low to mid 50s.

Stays mild, but keep raincoats handy
Gusty south-southeasterly winds kick up Thursday and could gust to 30 mph during the afternoon. You can some rain Thursday morning, but after 10 or 11 am the rain should lift north out of CNY and leave us with a mainly dry, warm and brighter afternoon.
It’s a bit muggy with intervals of afternoon sun and highs warming well into the 60s to low 70s.

It’s windy, warm and slightly humid Thursday night with some showers possible Thursday evening near sunset and then a heavier batch probable late Thursday night/early Friday ahead and with a strong cold front due to move through first thing Friday.

After a wet start to Friday with rain and possibly a gusty storm, the shower activity will be more scattered with a decent amount of dry time.

Gusty winds of change late week…
It’s windy and slowly turning cooler Friday too, especially during the afternoon as readings drop through the 50s.
It’s very windy, 40+ mph gusts, and turning chillier Friday night with another round of mainly rain for most, but rain could change to snow late Friday night into Saturday morning over the hills. There MAY even be a light snow accumulation across the higher terrain!

Rain and snow taper Saturday afternoon, but it remains chilly with highs likely not getting out of the 40s. Gusty winds over 40 mph at times Saturday accentuate the chill to start the weekend making it feel more like the 30s much of Saturday.

Any better Sunday?
Maybe a little but probably not much better to end the weekend. There will be less wind and it could be a little bit milder too, but another round of showers tries to move in during the day with a fast-moving wave of low pressure.
Highs to end the weekend should make the 50s.
Stay tuned for updates.
