PHOTOS: Eclipse Day Babies in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — We’ll all remember watching the eclipse, but today was a super special day for a few central New York families.

Crouse Hospital shared some pictures with NewsChannel 9 of babies born on Eclipse Day and some that were discharged on April 8, 2024.

On Eclipse Day, two babies were born in Syracuse at Crouse Hospital.

Two other babies were discharged today as well.

The first born was baby Amelie to parents Josie and Sebastian on April 4 at 8:42 a.m.

The second born was baby Janie to parents Elizabeth and Matthew on April 6 at 6:18 p.m.

According to Bob Allen, vice president of communications & government affairs at Crouse Hospital, it was a memorable day for parents.

“Definitely, a total eclipse of the heart, a memorable day for those new parents,” said Allen.
