Free transportation to eclipse viewing area in the City of Oswego

CITY OF OSWEGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — If you are heading to Oswego County for Monday’s Total Solar Eclipse, expect traffic with crowds of people heading there for this once-in-a-lifetime event.
If you want to take in Monday’s Total Solar Eclipse with part of the crowd at Breitbeck Park, but don’t feel like driving, there are other options.
The Best Western Plus and the Clarion Hotel have partnered with the city of Oswego to provide a free shuttle service to its hotel guests and the public starting at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
The two shuttles’ first stop is at the Best Western Plus, then they will head over to Fort Ontario and drop off riders at Breitbeck Park. There’s also public parking available for shuttle drop off and pick up at 410 West 1st Street for non-hotel guests.
“A lot of people are going to be coming to Oswego. They don’t know quite what they are in for. They know that we’re in the best viewing areas in the entire country, but they are going to come here really not knowing exactly what to do so they are going to park their car, but we thought providing these shuttles to people to be able to get them around to some of the key locations would just be a nice thing to have for them,” said George Broadwell, co-owner of The Best Western Plus and the Clarion Hotel in Oswego.
The free shuttles will run all day on Monday, starting at 1:00 p.m. to as long as they are needed by the public.
