30 years later, and still, where is Heidi Allen?

NEW HAVEN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – 10,958 days ago, so many stood in this very same spot praying for the safe return of Heidi Allen.
“As long as Heidi is missing the case is open, and that’s always been, you know, that was my mom’s first question, ‘Where is Heidi?’ And that’s the answer we’re looking for. Where is Heidi? And one day we’ll have that answer, whether that’s today or tomorrow, we don’t know,” Lisa Buske, Heidi Allen’s sister, said.
It’s those in the small country town keeping Heidi’s memory alive.
“There’s families that change her orange ribbon on her birthday in September and again on the third. There are still posters in people’s windows from 30 years ago. The post office had the original poster down there for… it was there until it was so bleached and sun stained,” Buske said.
Making sure her memory doesn’t fade, even for those too young to know her.
“You know they haven’t forgotten, and they tell their kids, and they tell their grandkids that it can happen here. Bad things happen everywhere. It doesn’t matter socioeconomic anything. You know, it doesn’t discriminate,” Buske explained.
Even the tiniest clue could help bring answers they’re looking for.
“Even if the drawing makes the case current just somebody come forward and say where she is so they can bury her where they want to bury her,” Diana Trepkov, the forensic artist who drew Heidi’s age progression photos, said.
It’s an aged progression photo that brings Heidi to life.
“The eyes are the mirror of the soul. The eyes will always stay the same. Gravity will take over, and then through here gravity, split hairstyle, and I make sure it’s still Heidi. So, when they look at her, it’s still that Heidi inside,” Trepkov said.
And leaves them wondering, where is Heidi Allen?
