Cazenovia Library to give away free prom dresses and suits in April

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Prom and ball season is inching closer and closer, and students are preparing and getting their outfits together.

However, prom dresses and suits can be expensive, especially for something you wear for only one night. That’s why the Cazenovia Library is hosting a Formal Wear Shop, selling prom attire for free.

“Shop with us for all your formal wear needs. We have dresses, suits and accessories for the best price! Free!” stated Cazenovia Library on the events page on Facebook.

The event will be hosted on Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

“We have been collecting formal wear dresses and suits that are gently used to have their second dance. We did this last year and had great success and it was so rewarding to see the girls fall in love with a dress for their prom/ball,” said Debora Millson, Cazenovia Library youth services and museum educator.
