Homeless man arrested, found in attic of person he was ordered to stay away from in Fulton

FULTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Fulton Police Department arrested a homeless man after they found him in the attic of the person’s home that he was ordered to stay away from.
48-year-old Jason Warren Clark was arrested in Fulton on Monday, March 4, after Fulton Police received a report that he was at a location in the 300 block of W 3rd St. S. in violation of two separate stay-away orders of protection.
When police arrived, they found Clark had barricaded himself in the attic space and then kicked a hole in the side of the house, attempting to climb to the roof.
While attempting to pull himself up to the roof he fell to the ground where he received immediate medical attention and was then taken to the hospital with substantial injuries from his fall.
Fulton Police charged Clark with two counts of criminal contempt for this incident, as well as eight other pending cases in Fulton City Court and possible pending cases in Granby Town Court and Syracuse City Court.
According to Fulton Police Chief Michael E. Curtis, Clark has lived in Fulton for many years and believes it was because of the stay-away orders of protection that forced him out of the location he returned to Monday.
“This is the third standoff with him in my career. The first one about 15 years ago played out the same way, he kicked a hole in the house from the attic but did get to the roof which resulted in a several-hour-long standoff with him walking around on the roof,” said Chief Curtis. “The second standoff about 13 or [so] years ago, he held his wife, and after letting her out of the house an entry team had to go in and extract him. He has an extensive history.”
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police assisted The City of Fulton Police Department in this investigation.
This is an ongoing investigation with further charges expected. There is no danger to the public at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fulton Police Department.
