Two barn fires: All barn animals dead in Genoa

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Two barn fires broke out within the last few days in central New York.
Genoa Barn Fire
A massive barn fire broke out in Cayuga County on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
The Genoa barn owner shared that all animals inside the Blakely Road barn were killed.
Fire officials say it broke out just before 7:30 p.m.
At one point, the flames became so intense that crews had to back off.
It took nearly six hours to get the scene under control.

Owego Barn Fire
Over in Tioga County, fire crews were faced with some high flames at a barn west of Binghamton.
According to the Owego Fire Department, the fire started in a field behind the barn but because of the high wind flames were able to reach the barn
This resulted in a giant blaze. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
