Meet the Orange: #11 Lexi McNabb

Lexi McNabb, a freshman guard from Chandler, Ariz., was born bleeding Orange but her journey to Syracuse is her own. In the latest episode of Meet the Orange, McNabb talks about her decision to commit to Syracuse after Felisha Legette-Jack was named head coach in March, her love for all things Disney, and building her own legacy on The Hill.

McNabb originally committed to play at Buffalo but when Legette-Jack offered her the opportunity to write her own story playing for the Orange, she couldn’t pass it up. McNabb is a proven winner. She won Arizona 4A State Championships and scored 21 points in the championship game in 2021. She played three years of varsity basketball at Seton Catholic before transferring to Lincoln Prep her senior year. At Lincoln Prep, she averaged 10.2 points per game and helped the Huskies to a third-place finish in the state tournament as team captain.

The McNabb name is synonymous with Syracuse. Her mother, Raquel (Nurse) McNabb ’98 played point guard for four years for the Orange when Legette-Jack was an assistant coach in the 90s. Her father is legendary quarterback Donovan McNabb ’99 who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft after a successful playing career at Syracuse.

McNabb discusses how Legette-Jack has been part of her life for as long as she can remember and the excitement around the program heading into the 2022-23 season.

The Meet the Orange miniseries is aimed to introduce fans to the new faces of @CuseWBB and build excitement for Coach Jack’s first season leading her alma mater.
