Opening Day in Major League Baseball is one of the most important days of the year for fans of the sport. The excitement can be felt from all across the country as “America’s Pastime” officially returns to action. Although for fans of the St.Louis Cardinals, it was announced that they would have a little bit more to look forward to for their 2024 season.
On March 25, 2024 the Cardinals revealed that they will be welcoming well-known record producer and St. Louis-native Metro Boomin to Busch Stadium for a night at the ballpark themed around him.
Fans in attendance will have the option to purchase special themed tickets, and those who do will be given a bobblehead of the composer himself. “Young Metro” will also be making an appearance right before the first pitch.

This is not the first time a Missouri-born celebrity has made a guest appearance at a local baseball game. Metro Boomin joins the long list of St. Louis stars like Boston Celtics player Jayson Tatum (2023), former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner (2018), sportscaster Bob Costas (2018) and actors John Goodman (2016) and Jon Hamm (2014). Others include singer Chuck Berry, rapper Nelly and TV sensation Andy Cohen dating back to 2013.
A fraction the proceeds of each ticket will be given to “Rung for Women”, a non-profit organization based in St. Louis that fights for women’s equality in the workplace. Tickets are currently on sale on the St. Louis Cardinals website.
Metro Boomin Night is slated for May 20, 2024 when the Cards take on the Baltimore Orioles at 6:45 p.m.
