SU’s win streak snapped with 13-12 OT loss to Stony Brook

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR) — #5 Syracuse women’s lacrosse fell to #12 Stony Brook in overtime at the Dome 13-12. This was a close game all the way through with eight ties and neither team leading by more than two goals at a time.

Stony Brook took the lead with just over a minute to go in the 4th quarter and Maddy Baxter would find the back of the net with 10 seconds left to tie it up at 12, which sent it into overtime. The Seawolves would take the win with a goal from Ellie Masera in overtime.

Emma Tyrrell led the Orange with three goals and one assist followed by Olivia Adamson with two goals and two assists.

Syracuse led in free-position shots, caused turnovers, and turnovers while Stony Brook would dominate in draw controls, shots and ground balls.

Syracuse returns to action Saturday at noon on the road at Virginia Tech.
