Yeison Jiménez, Mau y Ricky, Silvana Estrada & More: Who Had the Best New Latin Music Release This Week?
This week, Billboard’s New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — features new music, including fresh picks by Yeison Jiménez, Hamilton, Silvana Estrada, Mau y Ricky and Luis R Conriquez’s Meneo album, to name a few.
Emerging Colombian artist Hamilton released his debut album, AFROROCKSTAR, and in honor of his first studio LP, he shared an emotional Instagram post. “I look back and see how much we’ve grown. I can’t help but cry,” he wrote. “Along the way, I stopped believing in easy things, in friendships that didn’t add up. I closed my heart, refined my circle, focused, and finally understood the true purpose of my music. Today I’m a different person. I’m deeply grateful to my loved ones, those who have been close, supporting me without letting go of my hand.”
Meanwhile, brothers Mau y Ricky unveil La Llave as a follow up to their Latin Grammy-nominated album Hotel Caracas. “This EP feels like that perfect final chapter after Hotel Caracas — not only closing a cycle but doing it with the honesty and creativity we wanted to share with our people,” the sibling duo shared in a statement. “We renewed our connection with fellow Venezuelans like Yorghaki, Elena Rose and Danny [Ocean], and opened ourselves up again to collaborating with other artists — different from Hotel Caracas, which was a more introspective project focused on rediscovery.”
Other new releases include Los Tucanes de Tijuana and Chalino Sánchez’s AI-friendly “Rigo Campos,” Tiego PZK’s “Domingo” and Esau Ortiz’s “Olvidándote.”
