The Justin Timberlake Docuseries is Set for Release

Justin Timberlake reportedly prepares a four-part docuseries for Apple TV that will revisit some of the most controversial moments of his career.

The series is expected to premiere in December and is described as a “tell-all”. According to Variety, a source said that Janet Jackson will appear in the series to speak on the infamous wardrobe malfunction that occurred during their shared 2004 Super Bowl performance. The series will be directed by Fisher Stevens, who also directed the movie “Palmer” which stars Timberlake.

Another source said Timberlake responds to recent comments made by his former girlfriend, Britney Spears.

The 2004 performance sparked widespread backlash after Timberlake pulled away part of Jackson’s costume, exposing her during the live broadcast. Jackson received a majority of the backlash, including restrictions on her music being played on radio and music television.

Timberlake continued his career with relatively few lasting consequences from the controversy.

The series may provide a deeper look at an incident that has continued to follow both performers for more than two decades. Jackson’s potential participation is significant as conversations about the unequal treatment between men and women in the entertainment industry have continued to evolve.
