Camila Cabello Celebrates ‘Never Be the Same’ Hitting 1 Billion Streams: ‘I’m Blown Away’

Camila Cabello took to social media on Friday (May 23) to mark her hit single “Never Be the Same” joining the Spotify Billions Club.

“Never be the same is my 4th song to hit a BILLION STREAMS !!!!!!!,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a video of her performing the opening track from 2018’s Camila on the piano. “When i wrote this song it felt like my soul in musical form. yearning, dreaming, pining… lol.”

She continued the post with a heartfelt message to her fans, writing, “I’m blown away and so grateful if my music has in any way resonated with you or been a soundtrack to a moment of our lives…see you on tour this summer :)))).”

Released as the second single from her self-titled debut solo album, the emotional, falsetto-laced ballad followed the breakout success of the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Havana,” featuring Young Thug, by reaching No. 6 on the chart and later getting a remix featuring Kane Brown. In addition to becoming her second top 10 hit on the all-genre tally, the song also spent three weeks at the top of the Pop Airplay chart and reached No. 2 on Radio Songs.

Cabello’s other songs to cross the seven-figure mark on Spotify include: “Havana,” fellow No. 1 smash “Señorita” with ex-boyfriend Shawn Mendes, and “Bam Bam” featuring Ed Sheeran from her 2022 album Familia.

Meanwhile, the Fifth Harmony alum’s most recent solo offering, 2024’s hyperpop-fueled C,XOXO, spawned the singles “I Luv It,” featuring Playboi Carti; the Lil Nas X-assisted “He Knows”; Drake collab “Hot Uptown”; and C,XOXO (Magic City Edition) bonus cut “Godspeed.” She previously announced her Yours, C Tour to promote the album in February, though U.S. dates for the trek have yet to be shared.
