Usher to Be Honored by Atlanta Braves With His Own Bobblehead
Usher has been honored with Diamond plaques from the RIAA during his decorated career, and now, he’ll be celebrated on the baseball diamond.
The Atlanta Braves announced on Tuesday (May 13) that the first 15,000 fans in attendance of June 18’s game against the New York Mets at Truist Park will receive a limited-edition collectible Usher bobblehead.
Usher’s “Peace up, A-town down” opening lyrics to “Yeah!” are brought to life as the bobblehead flashes the peace sign, but finds him rocking the upside-down Atlanta Braves “A” logo on his navy hat and jacket. Staying authentic to the Grammy-winning singer’s brand, the bobblehead has Usher laced up in a pair of rollerskates.
The celebration will start before the game at The Battery Atlanta, which will be bumping Usher’s greatest hits pre-game.
There will also be a Coming Home Diner food truck outside filled with specialty menu items tailored to Usher’s Hall of Fame catalog. A few items include “OMG” (fried fish and grits) “My Way” (lemon pepper wet chicken wings) and “Yeah!” (shrimp and grits).
It’s unclear if Usher will be in attendance for the night honoring him in his second home, or perhaps the singer could throw out the first pitch. Tickets to the June 18 game celebrating Usher’s legacy against the rival New York Mets are still available.
Usher also worked with the Braves to help design an exclusive merchandise collection for the special day, which will be sold only at the Braves Clubhouse Store and Threads.
