Prince Royce to Sing at TelevisaUnivision’s Upfront in New York
Prince Royce is set to open TelevisaUnivision’s 2025-26 Upfront presentation, taking place in downtown Manhattan on Tuesday. The bachata star will perform songs from his upcoming new album Eterno.
“Music is the cornerstone of our content strategy, bringing to life the power of Latin Music to our audience and clients,” Ignacio Meyer, president of Univision Networks Group, said in a statement. “Creating music moments is our specialty, and we’re thrilled to be joined by Prince Royce at TelevisaUnivision’s Upfront, which will undoubtedly deliver an unforgettable moment for the audience.”
“I’m excited to perform at this year’s Upfront — the power of music in telling our stories is what makes platforms like TelevisaUnivision so vital for our community,” Prince Royce added.
Univision is set to unveil a new tentpole property around music, calling it “the most ambitious music strategy to date” under its new leadership, plus a number of new entertainment, news and sports shows.
“Music is a passion point for U.S. Hispanics,” Meyer previously told Billboard. “We feel strongly that Latin music is mainstream today, and we need to follow that mainstream consumer everywhere they are.” Meyer’s role was expanded earlier this year to include oversight of Spanish-language media’s portfolio of 35 owned-and-operated radio stations, nearly 300 affiliates, its Uforia streaming app, live-events business and networks group.
TelevisaUnivision’s Upfront presentation will close with a special performance featuring pianist Arthur Hanlon and a number of artists from R.Evolución Latina, Salgado Productions, Latino Broadway Men and Real Women Have Curves. The closing number will be co-directed by Sebastián Natal and Daniel Gutiérrez, the music director of Gloria Estefan’s On Your Feet!.
