SU women’s basketball assistant coach Sue Ludwig retires

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR) — After coaching for over 30 years, Syracuse Women’s Basketball assistant coach, Sue Ludwig, is retiring.

“Firstly, we would like to share that Sue will be stepping away from coaching here at Syracuse as she has decided to officially retire,” Coach Felisha Legette-Jack said. “Although we will miss Coach Sue on the court and in the office on a day-to-day basis, we will put her to work by having her help on the outskirts.”

Ludwig has been at SU since Coach Legette-Jack was hired in March of 2022. Prior to that she was the head coach of the Westhill girls basketball team for 31 years and took the Warriors to five New York State Final Fours and won the state championship in 1996. Ludwig also was inducted into the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.

With Coach Ludwig leaving, Coach Legette-Jack has hired Ty Evans as an assistant coach who coached previously as the head coach at Tennessee State University.
