The newest Spike Lee “joint” was the toast of the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, while it had a very limited run in theaters this summer. But now, Highest 2 Lowest, which stars Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, A$AP Rocky, Ice Spice and others, is set to make its streaming debut starting on Friday (Sept. 5) on Apple TV+. It’s available to stream for subscribers only.

Directed by Spike Lee, Highest 2 Lowest is based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 Japanese film High and Low and follows David King (Denzel Washington), a very successful music mogul who gets targeted with a ransom plot when his son Trey (Aubrey Joseph) gets kidnapped.

The new movie also stars Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, A$AP Rocky, Elijah Wright, Rick Fox, Rod Strickland, Wendell Pierce, Princess Nokia, Ice Spice, and others.
