Wolf Alice Scoops Second U.K. No. 1 Album With ‘The Clearing’

British indie band Wolf Alice collects its second U.K. No. 1 record as The Clearing bows atop the Official U.K. Albums Chart on Friday (Aug. 29).

The London four-piece – comprised of vocalist Ellie Rowsell, guitarist Joff Oddie, bassist Theo Ellis and drummer Joel Amey – first hit the summit back in 2021 with Blue Weekend. Their first two full-length efforts, 2015’s My Love Is Cool and 2017’s Mercury Prize-winning Visions of a Life, both peaked at No. 2.

The Clearing marks the band’s maiden major label LP, having left Dirty Hit last year to sign with Columbia Records. They’ll support the release with an extensive North American trek through the fall, concluding with a night at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Oct. 13. After a run of European dates, they’ll return to British and Irish shores in late November for their debut arena tour.
