Signed: Broke Goes Country; Atlus Maps Deal With BBR/BMG Nashville
Julia Cole signed a global recording deal with broke records, becoming the label’s first country artist. Cole also joins Neon Coast’s management roster, home to Kane Brown and others. Known for her empowering music and soulful vocals, Cole built her career independently, cultivating a loyal fanbase. Cole’s single “Day Late & A Buck Short” has amassed over 200 million views on social media and 52 million streams, just as she releases “Hunting Boots” and prepares to tour Australia.
Distribution and artist services platform Stem partnered with Latin urban music producer Dímelo Flow, who has worked with artists including Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, Feid, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Daddy Yankee. Stem will support Flow with artist services, distribution and release strategy, all while allowing him to retain ownership of his masters.
Matthew West signed with Austin Neal’s The Neal Agency for booking representation. West is a writer on Jon Reddick’s recent Billboard Christian Airplay chart 10-week No. 1 “No Fear,” and as an artist, he’s earned 11 No. 1 Christian Airplay hits. This year, West is extending his Don’t Stop Praying Tour with 13 additional shows. The Neal Agency’s roster includes Morgan Wallen, ERNEST, HARDY, Ella Langley, Anne Wilson and Cory Asbury. – Jessica Nicholson
Pinecastle Records added Trey Hensley to its roster. He’ll release the new project, the Brent Maher-produced Can’t Outrun The Blues in September. Hensley was named the International Bluegrass Music Association’s 2023 guitar player of the year accolade and is nominated in the same category at the upcoming IBMA Awards.
BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville signed Atlus, a truck driver-turned-artist known for songs including “You’re a F-king B-h I Hope You Know That S-t” and “OH NO!” His first release on BBR/BMG Nashville/Stoney Creek Records is “Devil Ain’t Done,” which was released on Aug. 15. Atlus is co-managed by Shawn McSpadden at Range Media Partners and Matt Wallace and Andrew Perlowich at Wardog, with business management by FBMM. CAA reps him for booking.
Pop singer-songwriter Jade LeMac signed with Warner Music Canada (WMC), which will release her EP It’s Always at Night on Nov. 7 via WMC and East West Records. The EP is preceded by by the single “Running Home.” According to a press release, LeMac’s music has racked up more than 410 million streams. She will open for Maren Morris on her North American tour this fall.
Country duo LOCASH, composed of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, signed with CAA Nashville for booking. LOCASH has earned Billboard Country Airplay chart-topping hits including “I Know Somebody” and “Hometown Home.” – JN
Big Loud Records signed singer-songwriter Owen Riegling, with Big Loud signing on as his label partner and joining forces with Universal Music Canada to promote his music. Ontario native Riegling is known for songs such as “Moonshines” and just announced his upcoming song, “Taillight This Town.” –JN
Universal Music Korea signed singer-songwriter LIM KIM, who originally debuted as a member of the girl group Togeworl. Her solo career began in 2013 with the launch her EP A Voice; her most recent single, “First Night,” was released in January.
Bebe Stockwell, who is currently on the Columbia Records roster, singed with TMWRK for management and Wasserman for booking. Her team now includes Andrew McInnes and Nick Palmacci at TMWRK and Kiely Mosiman at Wasserman. Columbia released her debut EP, Driving Backwards, in May. She’s currently working on her next studio project.
Singer-songwriter Jason Gray signed a new global recording and publishing deal with Centricity Music after 19 years with the company. Gray is managed by Josh Petersen at Music City Management. His latest album, Greatest Hits (Acoustic), includes reimagined acoustic performances of 12 of his songs.
Indie folk band Sons of Habit signed with WME for booking. Formed in Habit, Ky., the group includes lead singer Mitchell Douglas, writing partner Hagan Edge and bandmates Dalton Daniels, Jeffrey Parish and Noah Patrick – all childhood friends from Owensboro, Kentucky. The group released the EP Nostalgia this year and has released songs including “Fool’s Gold” and “Madeline.” – JN
Country singer Myles Morgan signed with WME. Morgan has played throughout the Southeast, including performances at Flora-Bama, Iron City and the Carolina Country Music Festival. He is currently at work on his debut EP, which was preceded by the song “I Still Got It.”
Metal band LYLVC signed with Judge & Jury Records, which released the group’s latest single, “Barely Human.” LYLVC is set to embark on a U.S. tour later this summer with Saliva, Earshot and The Founder featuring Austin John Winkler, followed by more tour dates in December with Stitched Up Heart.
Warner Music Latina signed Argentine singer-songwriter NISI to a record deal. The signing comes on the heels of the artist’s first single under the label, “KUME,” out on Thursday (Agu. 21). Managed by Move Management, NISI – who has performed at iconic venues like Movistar Arena and Luna Park – is known for blending Afrobeat rhythms with Spanish lyrics. “NISI represents an inspiring artistic evolution,” Francisco Granados, svp & A&R at Warner Music Latina, said in a statement. “Her fresh and authentic proposal fuses Afro beats with positive messages that genuinely resonate with a new generation.” – Griselda Flores
Integrity Music signed American Idol alum Warren Peay, a South Carolina native who was previously featured on CCM artist Zach Williams’ song “Sunday’s Comin’.” Peay is also repped by Vision Artists Agency for booking. – JN
