“Travis Scott is a visionary artist who continues to push the boundaries of music, culture, and live performance,” Connie Orlando, EVP, specials, music programming and music strategy said in a statement. “With his unmatched creativity and relentless passion, he has redefined what it means to be a captivating, inspiring entertainer within the hip hop genre. We look forward to celebrating him at BET Hip Hop Awards 2024.”

Scott will take the stage at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas when the awards show is taped on Oct. 8. He’s nominated in six different categories, including song of the year for “FE!N.”

Fat Joe is slated to play host for the night, while Megan Thee Stallion leads the pack with 12 nominations in total.

Marley Marl, Trina and Nelly were the last three recipients of the I Am Hip Hop Award.

The day after being presented with the I Am Hip Hop Award, Scott will fly across the country to take over MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for a special One Night Only in Utopia concert. La Flame’s Utopia album topped the Billboard 200 in August 2023 with 496,000 total album units sold in the first week, the most of any hip-hop album all year.

In 2024, Scott has been a chart staple in the assist department, notching three top 10 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to Future and Metro Boomin’s “Type Sh–” and “Cinderella” and 21 Savage’s “Nee-Nah.” He also topped the Billboard 200 last week when his re-released 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo jumped 106-1 after its vinyl edition shipped to customers — scoring the biggest week on vinyl in the modern era for a rap album.

Fans can catch the entire 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards broadcast Oct. 15 on BET starting at 8 p.m. ET.
