Phoebe Bridgers Brings the Nostalgia on Stage

By: Bella Navarro

Phoebe Bridgers’s most recent musical exhibition, The Lost Tour, brings back nostalgia and allows fans to live in the moment through a phone free experience. She also showcases some pretty special guests.

Bridgers brought The Lost Tour to Barclays Center in Brooklyn, for three sold out shows from Sept. 24-26, featuring Alex G as the opening act.

The show requires fans to put their phones into securely locked Yondr pouches. Phones could only be accessed in specific designated areas, creating a concert experience without the usual mass of screens pointing at the artist.

“It was a great opportunity to disconnect and really be present during the show,” said Syracuse sophomore Anna Lanse.

Lanse attended the Sept. 24th show and described the atmosphere to be different than anything she had experienced before. Bridgers had created very dynamic visuals and lighting that kept fans immersed according to Lanse.

The phone free experience became especially significant when Bridgers brought out her boygenius bandmates, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus to perform alongside her.

“I listened to them a lot when they were really active as a group, so it was like a call back to that time in my life” Lanse remarked.

For Lanse, the surprise performance allowed her to re-experience a meaningful time in her life without the impulse to record or the distraction of watching the moment through a phone screen.

“Them as a group helped me through personal struggles and it was so cool to be a part of that reunion”.
