Fatboy Slim’s Remix of This Rolling Stones Classic Finally Gets an Official Release

Can’t get no satisfaction? Think again, buddy! The Rolling Stones and Fatboy Slim are creating plenty of satisfaction Thursday (Dec. 11) with the producer’s longstanding mashup of the band’s 1965 “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and his own “Rockafeller Skank” officially out in the world and on streamers.

While this mashup has been a hallowed element of the Fatboy Slim repertoire for roughly 25 years — during which it’s become a fan favorite at his legendary sets — it’s only now getting an official release via the producer’s own Southern Fried Records and the Rolling Stones’ ABKCO Records via Zebralution.

This occasion is being celebrated with a brand skankin’ new video that weaves together Stones iconography and classic images of the band with Fatboy Slim’s signature cheek. The video was directed by Tom Furse and was made with the use of AI.

“Over countless years I have always dreamed of an official release for this mash up,” the English producer born Norman Cook said in a statement. “It has been a favorite in my DJ sets for over a quarter of a century, I can confirm it is thoroughly road tested and fit for purpose.”

Released in 1998, “The Rockafeller Skank” was Fatboy Slim’s breakthrough single, spending 27 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and propelling the artist to MTV-star status. Meanwhile, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” became part of the DNA of rock n’ roll after its release in 1965, when it spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100.
