‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Soundtrack: How Much Money Have ‘Golden’ & Other Songs Earned?
The singles from Netflix’s surprise smash hit KPop Demon Hunters have so far grossed more than $3.2 million in revenue, and they are on track to rank among the highest-grossing songs of 2025, according to Billboard estimates based on Luminate data.
The soundtrack of the animated film notched three Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hits, making it the first soundtrack to do so in nearly three decades. Additionally, its stars — Rumi, Mira and Zoey, who make up the demon-killing Kpop group HUNTR/X — now rank alongside Destiny’s Child and The Supremes as one of fewer than two dozen girl groups to land a No. 1 song.
The soundtrack’s lead single, HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 dated Aug. 16 and has accumulated 1.4 million song equivalents in the United States. Performed by real-life singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI, “Golden” has averaged nearly 26 million total on-demand streams per week since its release on June 20, which is more than the 25 million average weekly streams accrued during the same two-month period in 2024 by Tommy Richman‘s “Million Dollar Baby,” which ranked among last year’s top 10 highest-grossing hits, according to Luminate data and Billboard estimates.
The master and publishing rights for “Golden” have so far generated $1.39 million in revenue from streaming, digital downloads and airplay spins, according to Billboard’s estimates based on Luminate data. In comparison, “Million Dollar Baby” generated $7.4 million in revenue for all of 2024, with $4.9 million coming from streaming and $1.9 million coming from airplay spins. Radio has been so far slow to pick up, up, up on “Golden,” however with spins totaling 17,777 as of Aug. 14. “Million Dollar Baby” averaged nearly 24,000 airplay spins each week during 2024.
Demon Hunters‘ second-most popular song, “Your Idol,” sung in the movie by HUNTR/X’s rivals, Saja Boys, has generated nearly $1 million in revenue, with 19.1 million average weekly streams and a total of 1.022 million song equivalents in the U.S., according to Luminate and Billboard.
The Saja Boys’ other hit single, “Soda Pop,” is averaging nearly 16.3 million U.S. weekly streams and has so far generated $840,000 in revenue from master and publishing rights.
The songs from the Netflix smash have already attracted a remix by David Guetta, while the movie itself will be shown in select theaters later this month for a sing-along event. Netflix is also expected to submit “Golden” for Oscars consideration, which could help the singles maintain and even grow their streaming and airplay success.
