Clay woman sentenced to federal prison for role in drug-trafficking organization

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Lauren Roosa, a 39-year-old woman formerly from Clay, was sentenced to 72 months in federal prison on Thursday, June 27, for her role in a drug-trafficking organization.

The drug trafficking organization distributed methamphetamine in Onondaga County and other parts of Central New York.

As part of her previous guilty plea, Roosa admitted that from January 2020 through April 2021, she worked with others to distribute meth in Central New York that had been transported from California.

She also admitted that she had meth shipped to her residence in Clay, and one of these shipments contained 879 grams of pure meth.

Roosa also knew one of her co-conspirators stored meth in a small convenience store in Syracuse.

Law enforcement ended up seizing 405 grams of pure meth and $17,460 of cash as drug proceeds from the convenience store.

Roosa will have to serve a three-year term of supervised release after her prison sentence.
