Suspect took Seneca Falls Police on a high-speed chase, hitting 130 mph


SENECA FALLS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A 38-year-old Seneca Falls man, Brandon Carlson, was arrested after fleeing, and sending police on a high-speed car chase.
In a joint effort, Carlson was taken into custody by the Seneca Falls Police Department and the Seneca County Sheriff’s Department.

The chase began with a routine traffic stop in the town of Seneca Falls, when instead of complying with police Carlson fled the scene.
Police say Carlson has a history of evading law enforcement.
The chase went through the town of Seneca Falls, the village of Waterloo and concluded in the town of Fayette. During the chase, Carlson reached speeds up 130 mph. Law enforcement said these speeds are significantly dangerous to the community and other motorists.
Due to the extreme risk, police decided to end the pursuit in the interest of public safety. However, law enforcement officers continued their efforts to locate Carlson.
Shortly after, Seneca County Deputies saw Carlson’s vehicle in the town of Fayette, and managed to stop the vehicle and take Carlson into custody without further incident.
Carlson is currently facing multiple charges, which include:
- Three counts of Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the the third degree
- Failing to yield the right of way
- Unregistered Motor Vehicle
- Reckless Driving
- Driving across Hazard Markings
- Improper U-turn
- Unsafe Starting
Additionally, Carlson has outstanding felony warrants for:
- Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree
- Violating the Condition of Sentence for the original charges of
- Burglary in the 2nd degree
- Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree
- Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree
