Cortland father arrested for causing son’s death, two siblings also arrested

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — David Storie, a 60-year-old man from the City of Cortland, was arrested on charges that he caused his son’s death.

Back on October 19, 2023, Cortland police were called to 184 Main Street where they found 33-year-old Brandon Storie dead in his bedroom.

An autopsy was done, and the cause of death was found to be a homicide.

On April 19, a Cortland County Grand Jury then indicted David Storie on manslaughter in the second degree and endangering the welfare of an incompetent/physically disabled person in the first degree.

Two of David Storie’s sons, Michael Storie, age 40, and Nicholas Storie, age 31, were also arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent/physically disabled person in the first degree.

On Thursday, May 2, Cortland police said that David Storie is awaiting arraignment in Cortland County Court, while the two sons are awaiting arraignment in Cortland City Court.
