Two taken to the hospital from Syracuse fire

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse Fire crews were sent to a fire just before 9:30 a.m. Monday at 400 Seeley Road in Syracuse.

At the scene, SFD found large amounts of smoke coming from what firefighters called, a raised ranch home. They sent out a “signal 99” to ask other stations nearby for help.

SFD says there was fire found on the second floor. It was put out in 20 minutes.

“The home sustained heavy fire, smoke, and water damage to the kitchen area on the second floor, as well as smoke damage throughout the rest of the home. Three people were displaced by this fire; they were being assisted by Red Cross,” said SFD.

There were no trapped victims inside, however two people suffered from smoke inhalation. One adult and one child were taken to the hospital to be treated.

“They were reported to be in a stable condition prior to being transported from the scene,” said SFD.

A total of 39 Fire Department personnel responded to this incident, including command and support staff. Syracuse Fire Department Ambulance, Syracuse Police, American Medical Response, National Grid, and the American Red Cross also responded to the scene.
