Syracuse Travels to Purdue for ACC/Big Ten Challenge

The 2022 ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchups were announced Monday afternoon and the Orange, led by first year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, will travel to Purdue on Wednesday, Nov, 30 for the first meeting between the two schools in program history. The game will be played at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Challenge takes place over two days (Nov. 30 and Dec. 1) with six matchups on Wednesday and the remaining eight games to be played on Thursday night. Game times will be announced at a later date.
Last year, the ACC won 10 of the 14 matchups, including Syracuse’s thrilling 97-91 home win over No. 18 Ohio State on Dec. 1, 2021. The ACC leads the Challenge 10-1-3 all-time and has won the title four times outright in the last five seasons. Additionally, ACC teams are 104-74 against Big Ten opponents in the Challenge.
Legette-Jack is no stranger to the Big Ten, having coached six seasons in the league from 2006-12 as head coach at Indiana. She’ll look to lead the Orange to their third win in the last five challenges and first on the road in ACC/B1G Challenge history.
Purdue went 17-15 in head coach Katie Gearlds first year in West Lafayette in 2021-22. She returned to coach her alma mater after a successful stint as the head coach at Marian (NAIA) where she lead the Knights to back-to-back NAIA National Championships in 2016 and 2017.
Syracuse returns four players from last season’s squad including All-ACC honorable mention Teisha Hyman. Legette-Jack added 10 student-athletes to her roster after signing on to lead her alma mater including four transfers from her previous stop, Buffalo, headlined by Associated Press honorable mention All-American Dyaisha Fair and MAC Freshman of the Year Georgia Woolley.
