Tewaaraton Ceremony Caps 2022 Campaign

WASHINGTON, DC — Syracuse lacrosse was once again honored at the 2022 Tewaaraton Award ceremony held on Thursday, June 2 at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. Senior Meaghan Tyrrell was one of five finalists for the award, which goes to the top player in college lacrosse.

The Mt. Sinai, New York native joins former Orange Katie Rowan, Michelle Tumolo, Alyssa Murray and Kayla Treanor as Tewaaraton Award finalists. Four of the five finalists for this year’s awards were graduate students, including winner Charlotte North of Boston College.

Tyrrell native earned IWLCA first-team All-America honors this season after recording 111 points. Her 78 goals were one shy of the school single-season record of 79 set by Treanor in 2014. Tyrrell recorded her 300th career point and 200th career goal in 2022.

In addition, Orange men’s assistant coach Dave Pietramala received the Tewaaraton Legends Award.
