SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 4 Syracuse takes on ACC foe Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 2 in the Carrier Dome at 12 p.m. It marks the first meeting between the programs, as the Panthers are competing in their inaugural season.

ORANGE UPDATE
The Orange (9-2, 4-0) held on to victory against No. 6 Loyola this past Tuesday. After taking a 14-9 lead with 13:11 remaining in the game, ‘Cuse found its advantage cut to a single goal with 24 seconds left to play. But head coach Kayla Treanor‘s defense held strong to secure the team’s ninth win of the year.
Junior Emma Tyrrell was the team’s catalyst offensively. The midfielder tallied seven points (4g, 3a). Junior goalkeeper Kimber Hower finished with a career-high 12 saves.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
The 2022 campaign marks the first season for Pittsburgh women’s lacrosse. The Panthers have a 6-6 overall record and an 0-5 mark in ACC play.
All-American Paige Petty leads the Pitt offense with 35 points and 29 goals. Sophomore Kate Elam and junior Carlie Leach have also scored 20 goals each, while Madisyn Kittell has dished out a team-best 13 assists.
Goalkeeper Paulina DiFatta has started every game for the Panthers. She has a .444 save percentage through 12 games.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will mark the first meeting between Syracuse and Pittsburgh. It marks the second straight weekend that the Orange has faced an opponent for the first time (Temple, March 26).
