5 Things to Know About the AmeriCU Orange & Blue Game

Syracuse football will host the AmeriCU Orange and Blue Game on Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m., here are five things to know about the event:
1. Admission is FREE. Claim your Ticket!
The AmeriCU Orange and Blue game will be general admission for all fans. Fans are required to claim their free ticket in advance (Cuse.com/Tickets). As of March 26, Syracuse University revised entry protocols for stadium events. Details can be found here: Cuse.com/Covid.

2. Scrimmage Sights
The AmeriCU Orange and Blue Game will serve as one of the team’s spring scrimmages. Previously, these have all been closed events, but fans will now have the opportunity to watch the action live. The Orange’s spring scrimmages typically feature well over 100 plays and involve various series of drives. Similar to a normal game, the ball is spotted and drives play out until a score or the defense forces a would-be punt, turnover or turnover on downs. Drive resets and the scrimmage’s formats can also change at the staff’s discretion.
No formal scoring system will be in place for the game, but the competition will be fierce. With one of the largest crop of returning starters in program history (17-of-22 off last season’s roster), plus talented transfer additions and early enrollees – this event will be one of the few live scrimmage opportunities of the spring for players to cement their position or earn more playing time.
3. Alumni Return
A few special guests will be in the building next Friday night, including some fan favorites of different eras. A full guest list will be announced in the coming days, but Syracuse fans young and old will have autograph opportunities with stars of Orange past in the Dome concourse.
Other additional activities include: a performance by The Pride of the Orange, Syracuse Marching Band; Select-A-Seat opportunities for fans renewing or purchasing season tickets, commemorative Dome Tin giveaways at the gate and on field contests for selected fans.
There will also be meet and greet and photo opportunities with the current members of the Orange following the game on Friday night on the field.
4. ACCN Has the Action if you Can’t Attend
Can’t make it to the Loud House on Friday night, all the action will be broadcast live on ACC Network.
Fans shouldn’t worry about missing out on any of the TV broadcast though, all on-field interviews with coaches and players will be simulcast on the Dome video boards, providing in-stadium viewers the best of both worlds.
5. Renewal Rewards Available
In addition to it being the AmeriCU Orange and Blue Game, April 1 is an important date to remember for ‘Cuse fans for a different reason. It’s also the deadline to renew your season tickets.
All fans who renew their tickets prior to the April 1 deadline will be automatically entered into Syracuse Athletics’ Renewal Rewards Program, which means fans have opportunities to win ‘Cuse gear, courtside basketball tickets, signed memorabilia and more.
