Jones Signs with Raiders

Syracuse football alum Chandler Jones, one of the most coveted free agent targets of this year’s NFL free agency period, has reportedly inked a three-year, 51-million dollar contrack with the Oakland Raiders.
Jones, a Super Bowl Champion with the Patriots, spent the last six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He joins the Raiders with the second-most career sacks of any active player (107.5) and ranks 25th on the NFL’s all-time sacks list.
At Syracuse, Jones was a three-time All-BIG EAST selection before he was selected by the Patriots in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
He is the second former ‘Cuse standout to earn a new contract this offseason, joining Zaire Franklin – who re-upped with the Colts for three years and $12 million.
Jones and Franklin are a pair of the 14 Orange players who are currently on NFL rosters or were last season and are now a free agent. They join Nolan Cooney (Cardinals), Koda Martin (Cardinals), Justin Pugh (Cardinals), Cody Conway (Broncos), Ifeatu Melifonwu (Lions), Andre Cisco (Jaguars), Trill Williams (Dolphins), Trishton Jackson (Vikings), Alton Robinson (Seahawks), Chris Slayton (49ers), Riley Dixon (Giants – Free Agent) and Sterling Hofrichter (Bucaneers).
