ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse remained at No. 3 in this week’s ILWomen/IWLCA poll after posting two wins in the season’s opening weekend. The Orange defeated then No. 13 Stanford and Binghamton. Senior Meaghan Tyrrell led the offense with 11 goals, while the defense held both opponents to less than 10 goals.

Graduate student Emily Hawryschuk and senior Megan Carney returned to the lineup after suffering season-ending knee injuries a year ago. Carney recorded five goals, while Hawryschuk had three.

TYRRELL REACHES MILESTONE
Meaghan Tyrrell led the Orange with 14 points in the first two games of the season. She now has 211 career points, making her just the 11th player in program history to reach the milestone. Tyrrell needs 11 points to move in to the top 10 on Syracuse’s all-time points list.

SCOUTING STONY BROOK

Sunday’s game is the season opener for Stony Brook. The Seawolves posted a 16-3 record last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.

Ellie Masera returns after scoring 17 goals and recording 25 draw controls in 2021. Defensively, Rayna Sabella was named a preseason third-team All-American by Inside Lacrosse. She had 32 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers last season.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Stony Brook will meet for the third consecutive year and the fifth time overall. The Orange own a 3-1 advantage in the series. The Seawolves visited the Dome last February. Carney led the Orange to a 16-6 victory with five goals.
