Will “Brat Summer” make a comeback next year?

By Olivia Woloz
Last month, acclaimed pop singer Charli XCX announced that she will star in a new movie set for release in 2026. “The Moment” will be a mockumentary-style film that follows a pop star’s rise to her first headlining arena tour. The film is being produced by XCX’s production company, Studio365, with help from the American production company, A24.

XCX came up with the movie idea herself. In fact, the singer will help produce and star in it, along with other celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, Alexander Skarsgard, and others.

The movie will be directed by Aidan Zamiri, the same director of XCX’s music videos for her singles “360” and “Guess” (ft Billie Eilish). XCX said in an interview with Vanity Fair that the film is “a seed of the idea…conceived from this idea of being pressured to make [a tour documentary].”

With so many recorded tours and documentaries from other artists, XCX had the unique idea of creating her own film that follows a similar etiquette to her career and both her “Brat” and “Sweat” tours.

The film does not yet have a set release date, but it is planned to be out sometime next year. Even though it is not in production yet, the details of the leading players and crew involvement already make this movie something worth waiting for. It seems as though “Brat Summer” has not quite made its final exit.
