Travis Kelce Wrote Taylor Swift a Romantic Letter Before Eras Tour End: ‘Beginning of Me Meeting the Love of My Life’

Travis Kelce is a poet — but certainly not a tortured one. During the final episodes of The End of an Era, Taylor Swift received a letter the NFL tight end wrote his now fiancée before her tour came to a close in December of 2024.

“So many unbelievable memories on this tour, but my favorite one is seeing you in concert for the first time. Being mesmerized and swept off my feet by a woman who doesn’t even know me. I selfishly say thank you for creating this legendary tour and to Robert [Allen, her tour manager] for making you stop through Kansas City, Mo. That night two in KC was the beginning of me meeting the love of my life,” Taylor read, before sweetly exclaiming, “Ohhhh my god!”

Kelce famously attended her Eras show on July 8, 2023, at Arrowhead Stadium, where he plays football for the Chiefs. Later that month, he revealed on New Heights — the podcast he cohosts with his brother, Jason -0- that he was “butthurt” he didn’t get to meet her, even though he had a friendship bracelet with his phone number to gift her.

Thanks to The End of an Era, we now know that it was Andrea — Swift’s mother — who encouraged her daughter to date Kelce after reading headlines on the internet about the missed connection. The push from Mom worked, and Taylor made her NFL debut on Sept. 24, 2023, at an Arrowhead suite to watch Kelce and the Chiefs play the Chicago Bears.

Nearly two years after they first hard launched as a couple at the game — not to mention two Super Bowl appearances with one win, many “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs” shoutouts, plenty of date nights and one podcast appearance — Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on Aug. 26. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they posted on Instagram along with photos of the proposal in Kelce’s backyard.
