Taylor Swift on White House Press Secretary’s Spotify Wrapped Despite Trump Saying She’s ‘No Longer Hot’
Taylor Swift may not be “hot” anymore in the eyes of the president, but even his own White House press secretary can’t get enough of the pop star’s tunes.
Shortly after Spotify rolled out its annual Wrapped features on Wednesday (Dec. 3), Karoline Leavitt shared a screenshot of her top five artists of 2025 on her Instagram Story. Though the first four were Morgan Wallen and Christian music stars Forrest Frank, Brandon Lake and Anne Wilson, one notably liberal pop star stood out at No. 5: Swift.
Without acknowledging the 14-time Grammy winner’s place on her ranking, the communications specialist simply added a cowboy hat, cross and music note emojis to the post.
Though she might be one of Swift’s more surprising listeners, Leavitt is far from the only one this year. The Eras Tour headliner closed out 2025 as Spotify’s most-streamed artist in the United States, as well as the second-most-listened-to artist in the world, just behind Bad Bunny.
Those stats certainly contradict President Donald Trump’s claim earlier this year that Swift isn’t as popular as she once was. “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” he wrote on Truth Social in May.
The twice-impeached POTUS has also indicated that Swift’s vocal support of Democratic politicians and her opposition to the Trump administration would cause Republican fans to boycott her music. In September, after the singer endorsed his opponent, Kamala Harris, for the presidency, Trump said, “I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time … She’s a very liberal person, she seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
