Snoop Dogg Becomes Team USA’s First Honorary Coach for 2026 Olympic Winter Games

Snoop Dogg should start practicing his Italian, because the West Coast rap legend is heading to Milan. The entertainer announced on Thursday (Dec. 11) that he’s been tapped as the first-ever honorary coach for Team USA at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games.

“From the moment I rolled into Paris, I was instantly welcomed into the USOPC family. I felt the energy, the pride, and the love of sport that makes this team special,” Snoop wrote in a post on his LinkedIn profile. “The way the staff lifts up the athletes … the way the athletes inspire the world … it had me hooked from day one.”

The multi-hyphenate entertainer continued: “So I’m jumping in as Team USA’s first honorary coach, a role that’s all about celebrating and supporting athletes beyond what fans see on the field of play. I’m here to bring my voice, my heart, and maybe a little wisdom from the sidelines … to help motivate Team USA, shine a light on the full athlete journey and uplift the people who make their dreams possible.”

For his first endeavor, he’s giving back to Team USA with the Team USA x Coach Snoop capsule collection by Fanatics, which will be on sale later this month. All proceeds will benefit Team USA.

It’s not Snoop’s first rodeo at the Olympic Games. He shined as a special correspondent at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which saw him bring a unique blend of commentary and culture to the Olympics that was authentic to Snoop Dogg, but also beloved by viewers. Snoop also served as a torchbearer for the Olympic flame ahead of the Opening Ceremony.

The 54-year-old will be on double-duty in Northern Italy, as Snoop Dogg is set to reprise his role to help cover the Milano Cortina Olympics for NBC in 2026.

Snoop will be exploring Italy’s landmarks and culture while also hosting a Snoop’s Greatest Hits segment to keep the world up to date with the best moments of competition and his favorite athletes.

“I am excited to be back with my main man Mike Tirico for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina,” Snoop said in a statement in September. “The D-O double G will be on the scene, and I am looking forward to celebrating with the athletes and their families. The Olympics is the biggest stage in the world and, as everyone knows, I’m all about sports, bringing people together, and unifying while bringing the fun. I’ll be bringing my puffy jackets, snow pants, goggles, skates (and will definitely be iced out).”

It all kicks off on NBC with the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games’ Opening Ceremony taking place on Feb. 6. The Olympics will also stream on Peacock.
