Rihanna Hypes A$AP Rocky’s ‘Don’t Be Dumb’ Album After Cover Art Reveal: See Her Reaction

After promising that Don’t Be Dumb would arrive before year’s end, A$AP Rocky revealed the Tim Burton-assisted cover art for the long-awaited album on Tuesday (Dec. 17).

Rihanna hopped into Rocky’s Instagram comment section, showing love to her man for his hard work on the project. “Sooo f—in proud!!!! LETS GOOOO BABY,” she gushed.

RiRi wasn’t the only star to chime in, as music peers like Pusha T, Ty Dolla $ign, Westside Gunn and Smino gave Rocky his flowers.

While Don’t Be Dumb remains without a release date, the Harlem rapper apologized to fans for the delays. “SORRY 4 THE WAIT DON’T BE DUMB FINALLY HERE! THANKS TIM BURTON FOR HELPING ME MAKE THIS MOVIE! COMING SOON,” he wrote.

It’s unclear what Tim Burton’s involvement exactly is, but the decorated filmmaker appears to have been a sounding board for Rocky. Burton is best known for directing films such as Edward Scissorhands, Batman and Mars Attacks!.

“I sat and I played the album for Tim Burton, and he was f–king with it heavy,” Rocky told Billboard in his cover story last year. “He was rocking his head and he’s like, ‘Wow! I didn’t know you made that kind of music!’”

In November, as part of Variety‘s Hollywood Issue, A$AP Rocky revealed that Burton’s composer Danny Elfman scored “a bunch of the song” on his album.

“Danny Elfman, he just did my album with me that I’m putting out this year,” Rocky said. “He scored a bunch of the songs on my album.”

Rocky possibly alluded to a Jan. 16 release date when he hit the stage at Camp Flog Gnaw in November with “01162026” emblazoned across the sleeve of his hoodie.

Fatherhood has become a top priority for Rocky, as Rihanna gave birth to her third child with the rapper in September. The superstar couple welcomed their first daughter on Sept. 13, Rocki Irish Mayers.
