Alex Warren Is Billboard’s Top New Artist of 2025

Alex Warren closes 2025 as Billboard’s Top New Artist, the same year that the 25-year-old singer-songwriter captured his first No. 1 on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 songs chart with “Ordinary.” The smash hit spent 10 weeks atop the tally, and is featured on his You’ll Be Alright, Kid album, which became his first top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, hitting No. 5 in August.

Recent champs in the year-end Top New Artist category include Chappell Roan (2024), Zach Bryan (2023), Latto (2022), Olivia Rodrigo (2021) and Roddy Ricch (2020).

During the 2025 chart year (which spanned the charts dated Oct. 26, 2024, through Oct. 18, 2025), Warren notched five hits on the weekly Hot 100. Aside from “Ordinary,” he hit the list with “Burning Down,” “Bloodline” (with Jelly Roll), “On My Mind” (with ROSÉ) and “Eternity.”

On the year-end Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart, “Ordinary” finishes at No. 7. On the year-end Billboard 200 Albums recap, You’ll Be Alright, Kid ranks at No. 26 for the year.

Billboard’s year-end music recaps represent aggregated metrics for each artist, title, label and music contributor on the weekly charts from Oct. 26, 2024, through Oct. 18, 2025. Rankings for Luminate-based recaps reflect equivalent album units, airplay, sales or streaming during the weeks that the titles appeared on a respective chart during the tracking year. Any activity registered before or after a title’s chart run isn’t considered in these rankings. That methodology detail, and the October-October time period, account for some of the difference between these lists and the calendar-year recaps that are independently compiled by Luminate. The Top New Artists category ranks the best-performing acts, and new acts, of the year based on activity on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100, as well as Billboard Boxscore (touring), for the 2025 tracking period.
