Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ Is Now a Club Banger Thanks to New Chainsmokers Remix

It’s about to be the sleepless night out at the club you’ve been dreaming of, because Taylor Swift just teamed up with The Chainsmokers to release a remix of “The Fate of Ophelia” that DJs everywhere are going to want to add to their rotations.

As announced Tuesday (Nov. 25) by the pop star’s official fan account, Taylor Nation, on Instagram, the “Fate of Ophelia (The Chainsmokers Remix)” is now available to download on iTunes and Amazon Music via Swift’s online store. Sharing a clip of the track — which is now amped up with thumping percussion, EDM flourishes and adrenaline-filled bass drops — the singer’s team wrote that the new version is “wrapping around us like a chain, a crown, a vine,” quoting some of the lyrics.

In the comments, The Chainsmokers wrote, “This is truly and honor 🙏🏻 we love u T.”

The remix comes as the original “The Fate of Ophelia” spends its seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It served as the lead single off Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl album, which has spent the same amount of time atop the Billboard 200.

Swift’s partnership with the EDM duo could very well help “Ophelia” lap two straight months at the top of the chart, just as the 14-time Grammy winner’s newly unveiled collection of holiday Showgirl vinyls might poise the album for eight weeks at the U.S. album chart’s summit. If “Ophelia” does clock an eighth week atop the Hot 100, it will tie 2022’s “Anti-Hero” for Swift’s longest-running No. 1 hit to date. Swift also promoted “Anti-Hero” with a bevy of remixes three years ago, with ILLENIUM, Kungs, Bleachers, Roosevelt and Jayda G all putting their own spins on the Midnights smash.

In the past, the Eras Tour headliner has also worked with electronic artists Snakehips, Four Tet, BloodPop and LP Giobbi on remixes of her tracks.
