It’s KATSEYE, B—h: Girl Group Members Honor Britney Spears With Dance Set to Iconic Hit

Before they were adored by millions of EYEKONs, the ladies of KATSEYE had their own pop icons — such as Britney Spears — to look up to. And in a new video, two of the girl group’s members paid homage to the superstar.

In a clip posted to Instagram and TikTok on Monday (Nov. 10), Megan and Lara stand in a dark dance studio while performing choreography in unison, spinning, sliding and hair-flipping to Spears’ classic 2000s hit “I’m a Slave 4 U.” “Now watch me,” Megan mouths along to the Princess of Pop’s voice, staring fiercely into the camera.

Fans in the comments are absolutely loving the tribute, with one person writing, “THIS is the energy we need back in pop music.”

The post comes just a few days after KATSEYE became a Grammy-nominated group, earning nods for best new artist and best pop duo/group performance with “Gabriela.” In an interview with Billboard shortly after the nominations went live, Megan shared that the band’s group chat — which also includes members Daniela, Manon, Sophia and Yoonchae — was absolutely “blowing up” in light of the news.

“With any award or nomination, it means so much to us because we work so, so hard,” she said. “So, it’s like all of the hard work, those long hours and all the dedication are really paying off.”

Spears was also nominated for best new artist once upon a time, losing to Christina Aguilera in 2000. The former would go on to win her first golden gramophone in 2005, taking home best dance recording for Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit “Toxic.”

She’s also not the first pop icon KATSEYE has honored on the band’s ascent to stardom. The six ladies recently paid tribute to Mariah Carey’s quintessential music videos — spoofing their own viral red-carpet interview moment with Billboard — in their visual for “Gabriela.”
