Avex Music Group to Launch Division Offering Artists Management-Level Career Direction
Avex Music Group is launching a new division that will offer artists the type of comprehensive career direction that’s typically associated with managers, the company tells Billboard.
Dubbed Artist Advisor Services, the division — led by Avex Music Group CEO Brandon Silverstein — will offer artists strategic support via an à la carte model that can operate under a traditional commission-based structure, a retainer or a hybrid of the two. Artists who utilize the division’s services will lead the decision-making process while enjoying strategic counsel and support in executing their vision from a team whose expertise encompasses creative direction, release strategy, brand building and venture development. The division will provide territory-specific expertise in global markets, including Asia, where Avex Music Group’s Japan-based parent company, Avex, is based. It will additionally back artist-led businesses by offering them access to capital and investment advisory support.
“Our industry is constantly evolving, and the needs of the world’s top artists are changing right along with it,” said Silverstein in a statement. “These superstar artists are the CEOs of their brands — true entrepreneurs who require financial backing for new ventures as well as support and infrastructure for their core business. Artist Advisor Services is an advisory model designed for the artists who are shaping global culture, who are experts in every area of their business, who feel they have outgrown the traditional artist-manager relationship, and need a silent partner behind them who can support their vision.”
Artist Advisor Services is expected to launch with its first clients in early 2026.
