UPDATE: Daihron Mathews’ mom turned him in to police

UPDATE on 10-7-25: Mathews has been turned in, thanks to his mom.

According to Syracuse Police Warrant Detectives, Mathews’ mom saw the news segment and brought her son to the police.

Syracuse Police are looking for 20-year-old Daihron Mathews. He is a Black male with black hair, brown eyes, six feet tall, and around 180 pounds.

Mathews is wanted for an incident that happened back on January 15. According to Syracuse Police, on the 900 block of South Salina Street, he was found with a loaded Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun — which he did not have a valid NYS pistol permit for — without a serial number.

He has an active arrest warrant for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

Mathews has two local prior arrests, and his last known address is on Cannon Street.
