Offset Admits He Made ‘Mistakes’ During Cardi B Marriage: ‘I Should Have Respected Her Way More’
Offset has opened up about some of his regrets and the mistakes he made during his marriage to Cardi B.
The Migos rapper joined Keke Palmer’s Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast on Tuesday (Oct. 7), which found Offset admitting to plenty of “mistakes” and doing “a lot of wrong” during his turbulent relationship with the Bronx bombshell.
“I was definitely not perfect. I made a lot of mistakes,” Offset said. “I did a lot of wrong, and it’s always on the front screen, so it was hard to move on from it.”
He continued: “I should have respected her way more. I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out, I gotta take that on the chin. That’s why when she left, I had to take that on the chin … I was being selfish, you know what I mean? And I can say that as a man. I’m a grown man.”
Set explained that social media pressure and criticism got to him at various times in his relationship with Cardi, and he wishes he could’ve tuned out the noise. “I wish there wasn’t so much interest in our stuff going on,” he added. “I’ve done got out of pocket a couple of times because it feels like you’re getting bullied.”
Cardi B and Offset began dating in 2017 and tied the knot in a private ceremony later that year. Cardi filed for divorce the first time in September 2020, and then again in August 2024, which saw them ultimately go their separate ways.
The former couple has three kids together, and their divorce has not yet been settled. Cardi B has moved on to another high-profile relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs, with whom she is expecting her fourth child.
